Day 45 - Grateful For “Swift” Action

Cruised 70+ miles on Thursday at nearly 16 MPH, but the context of my headline was meant to be completely different. I went to bed on Wednesday being incredibly thankful. The news that a terrorist attack was thwarted just a day before Taylor Swift’s concert in Austria really hit home. My bro Chris’ entire family was in Vienna together for the concert, a trip they had been anticipating for over a year. I’m grateful that the intelligence authorities were able to prevent this potential act of violence. I also wondered if other positive “forces” could have been at work.

This ride has been an extended way to stay close to Chris. After grinding through that last 40 miles of gravel on Sunday, I thanked him for “being there” to motivate me. Chris had an extra gear, in so many respects, that he relied upon when needed. In “playing back” Sunday, I recall thinking about how my sister-in-law Lori would be traveling to Austria with my niece Chelsea and her family and, after the completion of my ride, I consciously told Chris to “go”, to enjoy the family trip, and to keep them safe. There is nothing ominous about this exchange because I do this kind of thing all the time. In my subsequent Days 42/43 blog I noted my social life suffered a bit because the towns were so rural and my body needed rejuvenation. But, I also wonder if my co-pilot’s “energy” was elsewhere because I “released” him. This may sound implausible to some. I am also positively disposed to believe our lost one’s energy never disappears and can “shift” to where they need to be. Whether any of this has merit, will leave it to you to decide. I just know I sense Chris when he’s near and receive messages all the time. I’m not an empath because this doesn’t happen effortlessly. Just like any relationship, it takes work. For me, it’s worth it…and, maybe yesterday in Vienna, for his family too. Amen!
