Day 6 - The Happy Valley

In Bellefonte, I reveled in a great night sleep in the “bed” part of B&B, followed by the “breakfast” part. Margot accuses me of being that “B&B guy” who chats everyone up in the dining room. In actuality, she’s famous for starting all the chatter, getting up to re-rack back in the bedroom and leaving me to finish all the convos! Two of the guests were from Guilford CT so the CRI fundraiser hit home and several others were from Pittsburgh where I’m headed to see more family/friends in couple days. OK so I am that B&B guy :-)

Highlight of the day was stopping at a simple outdoor worship service that turns out is an annual music gathering of several local churches all struggling to survive. Greg (pictured w/me), who is from State College and teaches music at Penn St, has attended this church his entire life serving as its organist. He didn’t hesitate to come up and welcome me, inviting me to stay for food. Love that commitment to his faith and his community.

Had a brief thunderstorm pass by just as I planned to pull over to watch Euro 24 England-Slovakia elimination match. Found what I needed in the form of a bridge and set up shop underneath next to the river. Weather cleared and pushed off to Duboise in western PA for a heavy afternoon ride and big climb that resulted in a beautiful look of the landscape (pictured) I just left behind. Definitely starting to get in a rhythm. Hope everyone enjoyed a great summer weekend and blessings for all the donations to date.
