Day 28 - Halftime Report

My weekend in Minnesota is concluding and my bike and I feel REFRESHED! Had critical repairs completed Monday by my new BFFs at Chilkoot Cyclery so I can depart Tuesday morning. I cannot thank all of you enough for your support, both monetary and moral, through the first 28 days of this journey. We have tipped $35k in fundraising (including offline donations) thanks to all of your generous contributions to CRI. Our $50k goal is in sight. Including the match that would mean $100k of operating funds for CRI. We just need another $15k in donations and I need to knock out about 2,400 more miles. LET’S GET THIS BISCUIT!

As I prep to head west, I want to extend a special note of gratitude to the CRI team and our Marketing Director Winchelle Jean-Pierre, in particular, for their support. Winchelle has been doing a stellar job getting great PR for the Thor Tour, and keeping tabs on me to make sure I’m in one piece! A few summary stats through “halftime”:
Days riding - 21
Miles covered - 1,738
Avg miles per riding day - 83
States - 10
Off/rest days - 7
Total days - 28
Friends and relatives visited - 50+
Days found espresso - 27 (I still regret the one day in Illinois I didn’t find my fix)
Days consumed bananas - 28 (Perfect record! Spoiler alert, this is a multi-year streak)
When Sylvester Stallone is asked by the General in the first Rambo movie, “how will you live, Rambo?”, Stallone responds “Day by day.” That’s my plan. One day at a time!
